This is some dazzling material and it’s quite rare in this color. I love the soft, pastel Blue color because it reminds me of some Blue Silk material I bought years ago in China. That stuff was absolutely gorgeous, and so is this. It has a hardness of 3.5 but it’s quite brittle so I would not make jewelry with it. It also has 3 perfect fracture planes. If I can find a large, single crystal I might try to facet it but the perfect fracture planes will make that difficult to do. See the main category for more detailed information. This specimen is actually quite old. When my partner bought it came out of a 20+ year old collection. I am trying to find the original collector but I don’t hold forth much hope. It’s been a long time. The pictures were taken outside in bright sunlight against Black leather. It's difficult getting pictures sometimes because the reflections tend to make it bloom so it looks blurred. This piece has Druz all over one side also and that tends to be very bright.
